SportWorks Wins Prestigious Silver Award at SME Business Awards for MK and Buckingham

SportWorks is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the Silver Award in the SME Business Awards for MK and Buckingham in the highly competitive “Business of the Year – Employees Over 50” category. This accolade recognises our dedication to providing impactful SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Short Breaks provision to children with disabilities in Milton Keynes.
Commissioned by Milton Keynes Council, the SEND Short Breaks Programme has become a beacon of excellence since its launch in early 2024. The programme offers essential support to families and children, with sessions held after school, on Saturdays, and during holidays. Each session welcomes up to 16 children, delivering a safe, inclusive, enriching, and joyful environment where they can thrive.
Matt Hill, Managing Director of SportWorks, shared his thoughts on this milestone:
“We are incredibly proud to have received this award. It represents not only the hard work of our dedicated team but also the positive impact we have on the lives of children and families in Milton Keynes. Our SEND Short Breaks Programme has been a huge success to date, and we look forward to continuing to expand and innovate to serve our community even better.”
The success of the programme is best encapsulated by some of the heartfelt words of the parents whose children attend the sessions:
“My son gets to burn off energy with other SEND children, he doesn’t feel self-conscious and I get a much-needed break for a few hours. It allows us to spend time together as a couple and also time with our daughter. The team do an amazing job ensuring that all the children feel included and have fun when they all have very different needs. My son loves going to SportWorks on Saturdays.”
